1st meeting

  • Define/Describe problem

  • Determine data collection (should be compared to peers)

  • Team members assigned to work with teacher

  • Referring teacher contacts parents and invites to meeting (if they do not attend, referring teacher updates them)

  • If baseline data is already gathered, skip this stage

Baseline data is collected (baseline is before intervention is in place). Time between meetings varies depending on amount of baseline data available.

2nd meeting

  • Review observations and data collected (Baseline Data)

  • Determine a plan/intervention

  • Set goal based on baseline data

  • Set a time frame for interventions and 3rd meeting

  • Parents are invited to SAT Team Meeting by the referring teacher. Parents are allowed to give input. Referring teacher informs parents that if interventions are not successful there will be another SAT Team Meeting that they are invited to.

Plan is implemented and Intervention data is gathered

3rd meeting

  • Review observations and data collected (Baseline Data vs. Interventions)

  • Review plan/intervention and discuss potential modifications

  • Set goal based on baseline and intervention data

  • Parents invited to attend meeting and are asked for input about observations at home and school interventions

  • If interventions are successful, continue those interventions and stay at this stage (notify parents of student progress)

Plan is implemented and Intervention data is gathered

4th meeting

  • Review plan and data

  • Determine next steps

    • Continue without changes or

    • Change plan (may need to alter data collection) or

    • Discontinue Plan or

    • Referral for extended evaluation for SPED

  • Parents invited to attend meeting and are asked for input about observations at home and school interventions
