BV Cares; Don't forget about Darfur

Students raise awareness about genocide

March 25, 2009

Don’t forget Darfur. This is the new title put up for Darfur Relief. The Save Darfur Coalition has been working on a new display to send to the United Nations all summer, and it’s finally here. A photo display will be placed at the United Nations General Assembly in New York City in September. It will show a display of Darfur’s people who are still suffering:  fathers, mothers, children, who are still being affected by the atrocities going on in Sudan.

The Save Darfur Coalition and Boyer Valley Cares will not stop there. We are asking for your help in sending a petition to President Obama and the leaders of the United Nations. It isn’t a normal petition though, it’s a photo petition.

All you have to do is make a sign, take a picture of you holding it, and then send the picture to the Darfur Coalition.  To show your support, follow these steps:

  1. Make a sign by either  creating your own design or downloading a sign from http://www.savedarfur.org/pages/dont_forget_darfur_signs
  2. After making your sign, take a picture of yourself with it.

Please remember cell phone pictures cannot be taken
after 8:25am or before 3:11pm at school!!

  1. After you have your photo, add it to the petition. Email your photos to photos@savedarfur.org.

*If you do this, once your picture is sent, please sign the sheet in the lunch room under our display to show
